Chapter 10 A Humble Quest

"I will send for you and the boys quite soon Yarrow."
  With that Richard left.

Yarrow held back her tears 'till Richard had stepped through the doorway, but only just.
Her sobs did not escape Richard's ears.  Richard did not turn to her.  He walked with his head held high.
Alexander rushed passed his mother, then hesitated.
  "Good luck Father."
  Richard turned not.
And when he looked from the carriage and saw Henry's lip tremble he called to the driver to go.
It was not that Lord Richard was a heartless man.  It was the opposite.  As soon as he was out of site, he let the tears fall down his cheeks.  He must be strong for his family, that they might endure.  He could not have comforted them as he left without breaking down as he did now.
And now he must find them a new home, and not one they were accustomed to.  But they are Lionhearts.  They shall bravely face this.

  1. So they've lost their home. Hmmm. I'm still not a fan of Richard, what with the weird paternal, pat-on-the-head way he treats his wife, but I hope the family can find a decent, inexpensive place to live.
